Within the Golden Visa scheme, the MPRP program admits accessing a Permanent Residence by investment, which after 5 years will admit requesting a nationality.
In order to apply for a Golden Visa for Malta, the investor must make a monetary contribution to the Government of $30,000 euros. At the time of submitting the application, a non-refundable administrative deposit of $5,500 euros must be paid, while the remaining amount will be paid only if approved.
Applicants must also provide an affidavit stating that they have an annual income of more than €100,000 from outside Malta, or that they have capital of not less than €500,000.
All applicants to the residency program in Malta must also pass a strict due diligence process, and must not have a criminal record or be involved in any criminal activity.
- Future Citizenship by Investment: After being a resident for at least 1 year, it will then be possible to access a passport by investment by complying with:
* An investment of at least €600,000 if you have completed 36 months of residence in Malta or €750,000 after residing in the country for 12 months.
* Purchase a residential property worth at least €700,000 in Malta, and which must be held for a minimum of five years. An alternative is to lease a residence with a rental value of $16,000 per year.
* Donate an amount of €10,000 to any organization approved by the Community Agency of Malta. You can also donate to a registered sports, cultural, scientific, philanthropic, animal welfare or cultural organization or society.
